This program is funded through AB 923 and additional funding sources available such as the Carl Moyer Program and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Funding for AB 923 is received from the California State Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). The DMV collects and provides to the District $2 for each vehicle registered with the District’s boundary.
Older school buses can produce high amounts of air pollution, much of which poses a risk to the children riding in those buses. The Yolo-Solano AQMD has made cost-effective bus retrofits and replacements a funding priority. Our Clean School Bus Program improves air quality and helps protect the health of children and others who work or live where school buses operate.
Applications are accepted on a continuous basis.
