As a public health agency, the Yolo-Solano Air Quality Management District is committed to achieving clean air to protect the public's health and the environment throughout Yolo County and the northeast portion of Solano County.
The District's public outreach efforts serve the public and the media as the clearinghouse for information about its programs and operations. The District coordinates with other agencies on several outreach programs, including Spare the Air, lawnmower exchange programs, and bike commute month. The District also participates in community events and employer health fairs.
As part of our public outreach and education, the District celebrates and supports a variety of activities recognized both locally and nationally such as Car Care Month, Try Transit Week, Bike to Work Week, Clean Air Month and Asthma Awareness Day.
Some of the other public outreach functions include preparing and producing the quarterly e-newsletter, press releases, and educational programs in the schools.
